The Best Views

This amazing stay offers the most stunning sunrises and relaxing evenings. I am a sucker for a good sunrise and this boat does not disappoint. The upper deck is the perfect spot to start your day. Imagine sipping your morning coffee (or Diet Coke, like us, because we don’t drink coffee) as you watch the sunrise over the horizon. The panoramic view of the ocean bathed in morning light is nothing short of magical. Our favorite spot to hang out (besides in the water), was the lower deck; it became our sanctuary. With a spacious porch swing for two, it’s an ideal place to relax, listen to the gentle waves, and soak in the peaceful ambiance.

Some Things To Consider…

Here are some of the essentials and amenities you should consider. While it’s a glamping experience, you’ll need to come prepared. Think of it like camping but with a bit more comfort. The houseboat is equipped with a compost toilet, which might take a little getting used to, but it’s all part of the adventure. There’s a mini fridge to store your essentials, a rainwater shower (though a dip in the ocean is always an option!), and cooking facilities including a Green Egg grill, a griddle, and a coffee maker. Ken and I stopped at the local grocery store before beginning our adventure and stocked up on drinks, eggs, lunch meat, cheese, bread, and snacks. We also brought some extra water and dog food for Urkel. It worked out perfectly.

Your adventure awaits! One of the highlights of this unique stay is the opportunity to be surrounded by the gorgeous emerald green waters of the ocean and the beaches along Shell Island. The houseboat comes with a kayak and a paddleboard, perfect for exploring the surrounding waters. We particularly enjoyed paddling over to Shell Island to explore its pristine beaches and natural beauty. During the day, you might see boats passing by as people come for snorkeling excursions; there is even an ice cream boat that comes by each day with ice cream for purchase. By evening, the island is all yours. It feels like your own private escape.

This place is perfect for someone looking for a vacation with dog-friendly fun! For those who can’t bear to leave their furry friends behind, you’ll be pleased to know that this houseboat is dog-friendly. Our dog, Urkel, absolutely loved it. He had a blast exploring the boat and the surrounding area, making this getaway even more special for us. He loved paddling with us to the Island and exploring the beaches. He tried to catch fish and crabs- but he had no luck! It was hilariously entertaining.

There were some memorable wildlife encounters, for those of you who are ocean lovers like us. The marine life in this area is incredible. We were thrilled to see fish jumping out of the water, and we even spotted a couple of dolphins and stingrays during our stay. These encounters added an extra layer of excitement and wonder to our trip.

Our hosts were fantastic—friendly and accommodating. They made the experience seamless by picking us up in Panama City, transporting us to the houseboat, and providing a water taxi service back at the end of our stay. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our trip even more enjoyable.
